Frequently Asked Questions
Will the robot mower lose signal
No. The Navimow Terranox uses onboard navigation and 360 vision to navigate poor / no signal zones. Allowing for transport down narrow access and under trees.
What happens in bad weather?
Is it safe in public areas?
Yes. When combining the 360 vision, as well as the folding safety blades, these machines are safe to operate in public spaces. We always suggest "after hours" operations however.
The robots themselves can operate happily through most conditions. However, when turfcare requires mowing to stop, onboard sensors and access to the open weather network will send the mower home automatically and resume once conditions are suitable.
What maintenance is required?
Routine blade changing is required to keep the cut quality at its best. The time to change varies on application, grass quality and debris in the working area.
Also, a quick wipe of the cameras is required to keep the machines operating efficiently and safely.
If you are operating multiple robot mowers, a maintenance point can be created to bring the robot(s) to an on site workshop or space rather than going to the machines.
What if a robot gets stolen?
Robot mowers use numerous methods to safeguard against theft protection such as:
- Geofence - A virtual perimeter around the working area that, if the robot leaves that zone, it sends notifications to all authorised users.
- Live Tracking - Should the robot leave the Geofence zone, you can track the machines location live (Subject to subscription depending on brand)
- Pin Protection - A simple 4 digit helps stop people from openly connecting to your robot and taking control.
- Hardware Linked - Each robot mower is synchronised to its manufacturer set charging station. this means that 1 robot can only work in its intended charger. This linked with its geofence area, means that a robot cannot be used in another garden without the owner authorised reset.
- FindMy Ecosystem - Apple users can benefit with extra protection when using the FindMy feature. Some machines offer a location to covertly store an AirTag as well to help keep track of your investment
- Alarms - Each robot mower can be customised with an alarm that is triggered under certain events. From the machine being physically carried outside of the working area to simply having the STOP button pressed, the level of security customisable to your application.
